Soon, vacuuming might be as easy as saying, “Alexa, ask Roomba to begin cleaning.”

Today, robot vacuum pioneer iRobot announced two new models with Wi-Fi connectivity. The all-new Roomba 690 and 890 can also be controlled by Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant.

The iRobot Roomba 890 allows for remote control through Amazon Alexa or a smartphone app.

That means owners of an Amazon Echo, Dot, or Tap can use voice commands to instruct a Roomba to start or stop cleaning, or to return to its charging dock.

Both the 690 and 890 can be controlled through the iRobot app, which allows users to start cleaning remotely, monitor progress, see notifications if the vacuum needs service, and schedule when vacuuming takes place.

In addition, owners of existing Wi-Fi compatible iRobot vacuums—such as the Roomba 980—will now be able to access Alexa skills as well.

The iRobot Roomba 690 is on sale today for $375 exclusively at irobot.com. Pricing hasn’t been released for the 890, which will debut in early summer. It will feature counter-rotating rubber brushes to reduce hair tangles and a more powerful motor. Both vacuums should be on sale at major retailers in July.
