We love Kenmore canister vacuums. They clean well, they’re easy to store, and they come with a ton of useful attachments. Unless you want to spend five times as much money on a Miele, we think Kenmore makes some of the best vacuums you can buy.
Right now, there's a rare opportunity to score one of these great vacuums for less coin: The Sears-and-Kmart-specific brand is coming out with a new lineup of cleaners for 2017, which means many vacuums in the current lineup are on closeout.
While it's sad to see a great product fade away, these sale prices are good news if you’re in the market for a new vacuum. The models on sale include:
The Kenmore Progressive 21514 comes with HEPA filtration, a retractable cord, a powered brush, a stair grip feature, variable speed, and on-board attachment storage. One of those attachments is the Pet PowerMate—a tiny, powered brush for cleaning pet hair off upholstery. Our tests show it really works.
This is the better deal of the two. Normally, it sells for around $229 and drops down to $199 on Black Friday sales. While we’ve even seen it on sale in the past for as low as $179 with promotions and coupons, there’s no guarantee the 21514 will stick around on shelves long enough for it to drop in price again.
This vacuum earned our Editors’ Choice pick. It takes everything we love about the 21514 but adds an adjustable wand. That makes it more comfortable to use, and easier to reach corners.
Our testers have repeatedly recommended Kenmore canisters for their excellent dirt pickup and ease of use. User reviewers love how long they last and how easy they are to fix. Even vacuum enthusiasts (they exist!) prize Kenmore canisters for their old-school design and reliability.
The Kenmore 21614's $239.88 sale price isn’t as low as we’ve ever seen it—but, again, production is ending on these vacuums. That means it’s your last chance to buy one, and your local Sears might be sold out before prices drop again. Remember, Sears and Kmart prices that end in 88 cents signify that stock will be sold out until it’s gone.
